Emily (Amelia) Crawford
Coming off the back of my undergraduate degree, I decided to do more with my writing, furthering my skills by completing a postgraduate degree in Creative Literature at the University of Stirling and working as a writer and editor.
Writing has always been a way to explore the world around me, so I am always looking for new stories to tell. Whilst my undergraduate degree is primarily in English Studies and Scottish History, I have always enjoyed extending myself, learning new things, and then experimenting with my characters and settings, drawing on new avenues as well as historical and fantastical inspirations to create new and exciting worlds for my writing.
Occasionally, alongside exploring more personal writing, I review literature and film from the critical eyes of a storyteller. I thought it would be good to take a step away from writing solely fiction, diving into the critical world in the hopes of broadening my horizon and my understanding of the creative process.
I also produce character art for different pieces I’m working on as well as for friends. Drawing has become somewhat of an escape from staring at a laptop screen, and I have found a lot of enjoyment in producing these pieces for people - whether they be individual arts or more large scale.
